Mentee’s offer encouragement
I was able to witness so many great moments when matches met for the first time this year. Smiles were abundant. Many matches caught up with what they did over the summer, some shared book recommendations and some focused on art projects.
Highlights:
September has been amazing so far. I started during the 2 nd week of September. Michele had
contacted mentors and mentees already so I knew who was returning. I have been scheduling
matches to meet for the past 3 weeks. It has been great seeing them back together, so many
happy people!
We also had a few orientations for new mentors to attend. As of now 7 new mentors are in
the process of getting all their paperwork filled out and I am doing reference checks on them.
OFFICE UPDATE
I spent some time updating the office, making it welcoming for students and mentees to stop by. It turned out great!
Stacy and Michele have been great at helping me navigate this new job. I also appreciate all of Lisa’s tips and advice. Such a great team!
Upcoming:
Mentor trainings in October- 10/7 and 10/8
Homecoming Week 9/30-10/5- assemblies, football game and dance
Open House 10/9/24 6pm-7:30pm- we will have a table set up
A fun event in our community 10/12 our Metalworks Skate Park is opening!
We will have a fun event for everyone 1pm-3pm 2nd Ave in Ferndale.
