Mentor Coordinator Report
Stories & Quotes To Share:
This month we got a new match from our Lynden BTO program. The student moved here from Lynden and was a bit nervous to start here only knowing 1 person. Lisa, BTO Coordinator at Lynden H.S., contacted me to let me know about the situation. Both of us talked to her mentor and were able to have her continue to mentor her student at FHS. These 2 have been together for 3 years and have a wonderful relationship. Katie, the mentor came and brought cookies for them to decorate. Apparently this is one of their favorite activities to do together. It was great for the student to have her mentor show up for her at her new school. Really helped calm her nerves.
We also had a lot of fun holiday activities at FHS. One of the favorite events was a Winter Wonderland Event during Advisory. We had over 20 different activities to choose from throughout the building. Decorating a sugar cookie, making pinatas and Santa photos were some of the favorite stations. Such a fun day.
Highlights:
December was a quick month. We had lots of fun activities for our matches. Making ornaments was the favorite one. We have some very creative people in our program.
We had mentors attend winter programs and even a mentee went to watch her mentor perform at a concert as well.
The new BTO merch arrived just in time to deliver before the break. Everyone loved their item. Sweatshirts were the favorite!!
